SNOW REMOVAL; CASS AND CLAY COMMISSIONERS MEETING, Committee reoorts
Ms. Johnson informed the Commissioners that she received complaints from three neighbors
around the Courthouse regarding the noise during early morning hours when snow removal is
done in the county parking lots. Since the County Highway Department does the snow removal
work, she talked to the County Engineer about the noise level of the machine's back-up signal.
Mr. Berndt has had new equipment installed that should be quieter because it is designed to
adjust to the environment. As far as the time when snow removal is done, Ms. Johnson said the
work schedule is variable, depending upon when the snow falls and when the lots must be
cleaned for county employees arriving at work.

Due to scheduling conflicts and the amount of time being spent on the Cass County jail project
and North Dakota legislative issues, Ms. Johnson was asked to contact Vijay Sethi, Clay County
Coordinator, about delaying a joint commissioners meeting until late spring.

19.
