<br />Commission Minutes--January 4, 1999 1916 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JANUARY 4, 1999 <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />A meeting of the Cass County Board of Commissioners was called to order at 3:30 PM by the <br />board's 1998 chairperson, Donna Schneider, with all members present as follows: Robbie <br />Quick, Paul Koenig, John Meyer, Alon Wieland and Donna Schneider. <br /> <br />Oaths of office were administered by Judge Norman Backes to the following Cass County <br />officials elected at the November, 1998, general election: County Commissioners Alon Wieland <br />and Donna Schneider; Deanna Kensrud, Register of Deeds; Donald Rudnick, Sheriff; and Birch <br />Burdick, State's Attorney. Dorothy Howard, Clerk of Court, was absent today but is scheduled <br />to be sworn in the following day. <br /> <br />2. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to approve minutes of the <br />last regular meeting and the special meeting held December 21, 1998. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Quick moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve the order of <br />the agenda with the following changes: 1) add two Social Service <br />contracts under contract approval; 2) add Sheriff's Department <br />employee request for annual leave carry-over; and 3) move State's <br />Attorney salary item from the consent agenda to the regular agenda. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. COMMISSION CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR, Elected for 1999 <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to elect Robbie Quick <br />as Cass County Commission Chair for 1999 and to elect John Meyer <br />as Vice Chair for 1999. Motion carried unanimously. Mrs. Quick <br />conducted the remainder of the meeting. <br /> <br />5. COMMISSION MEETING DATES/ROTATIONAL MEETINGS/ROBERT'S RULES OF ORDER! <br />DESIGNATE PARLIAMENTARIAN <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to adopt the 1999 <br />Cass County Commission meeting schedule as the first and third <br />Monday of each month (Tuesday if Monday is a holiday) at 3:30 PM, <br />with rotational meetings at 2:00/2:30 PM on Commission meeting <br />days, and special meetings as called, and to forward a copy of the <br />meeting schedule to the Secretary of State and the County Auditor's <br />
