Commission Minutes-December 21, 1998 1915 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> DECEMBER 21, 1998 <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Commissioners met for an informal planning meeting at 5:00 PM, after the adjournment of the <br />regular commission meeting on December 21, 1998. All members were present as follows: <br />Robbie Quick, Paul Koenig, John Meyer, Alon Wieland and Donna Schneider. Bonnie Johnson, <br />County Coordinator, was also present. <br /> <br />PLANNING FOR 1999 <br />Each of the commissioners provided input concerning portfolio assignments for 1999 and <br />advised which portfolios they had in the past and which portfolios they might like to have for the <br />upcoming year. As vice chair, Mrs. Quick said she has made no decisions about assignments, <br />however, she is leaning toward selecting Mr. Wieland for the Human Services portfolio to <br />coincide with the upcoming legislative session. She indicated she would telephone each <br />commissioner about respective assignments. <br /> <br />Mrs. Quick also discussed board assignments for commissioners serving on the Fargo-Cass <br />Economic Development Corporation, Lake Agassiz Regional Council, Metropolitan Council of <br />Governments, and Cass County Planning Commission. <br /> <br />CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR FOR 1999 <br />Commissioners discussed the chair and vice chair positions for 1999 and were in agreement <br />the current vice chair, Mrs. Quick, should be elected chair for 1999. Since Mr. Koenig and Mr. <br />Meyer were the only commissioners who had not served as vice chair, there was a consensus <br />to nominate Mr. Meyer as vice chair for 1999 and follow with Mr. Koenig as vice chair in the year <br />2000.
