<br />Commission Minutes--October 5, 1998 1879 <br /> <br />County staff and local citizens were approached about serving on the site selection, <br />programming, operations, and public information/marketing committees. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Quick moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to appoint jail planning <br />committee members according to the list provided by the County <br />Coordinator. Motion carried. <br /> <br />20. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to approve Vouchers No. <br />119,996 through No. 120,328. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />21. FLOOD MASTER PLAN COMMITTEE; BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS UPDATE; EMPLOYEE <br />SEMINARS; ELECTIONS, Committee reports <br />A flood master planning committee meeting will be held Wednesday, October 7th, in the <br />Commission Room at the Courthouse, according to Mrs. Quick. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson reported that the boiler system in the jail has been repaired with the hope that <br />it will continue working until such time as a new jail may be built. <br /> <br />Ms. Johnson is in the process of arranging free employee health and wellness seminars this <br />fall. The seminars will be conducted by area doctors. <br /> <br />Mike Montplaisir, County Auditor, said a news conference was held earlier today with AI <br />Jaeger, North Dakota Secretary of State, on encouraging people to vote at the upcoming <br />general election. <br /> <br />22. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter of thanks from Casselton Volunteer Ambulance Service for assistance in <br />securing the tower site for rural emergency paging; <br /> <br />Department of Veterans Affairs letter of appreciation for James Brent, Cass <br />County Veterans Service Office, attending a recent training conference in Fargo; <br /> <br />reminder of County Road Advisors' Workshop in Rapid City, SD on October 21 <br />and 22, 1998; <br /> <br />letter from Mary Ann Vogel, and response from commission chair, concerning <br />County Highway #31 right of way acquisition; <br /> <br />request for funding Casselton Park District on an annual basis from county park <br />levy. <br />
