VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE, Budget adjustment <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to adjust the revenue and <br />expenditure budgets for the Veterans Service Office by $250 each to <br />account for the donations received to hold an open house at their <br />offices in the Cass County Annex. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />7. EXTENSION SERVICE, Grant award <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded that Cass County serve as <br />the fiscal agent for the "Strategic Planning for Children from a Business <br />Perspective" project, and Cass County Extension Service proceed in <br />working with the County Auditor's Office to amend their budget <br />according to county policy and procedures. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8. CONTRACT APPROVAL, Joint Powers Agreement with Clav County <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to authorize the <br />chairperson and the county auditor to sign a joint powers agreement <br />with Clay County, Minnesota, for the general purpose of regulating the <br />speed and wake of watercraft utilizing the Red River of the North during <br />certain seasonal fluctuations of the water. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. ROAD DEPARTMENT, Purchase order for Chevrolet Suburban <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to authorize the <br />chairperson to sign purchase order for one 8600 GVW Suburban 4x4 <br />from Stan Puklich Chevrolet in the amount of $28,745 for the County <br />Highway Department. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />10. PUBLIC HEARING, Law Enforcement Block Grant Funds <br />This was the time and place advertised for a public hearing on the 1997 Law Enforcement Block <br />Grant Funds received from the Federal Government for expenditure during the 1998 budget year. <br />Glenn Ellingsberg, Sheriff's Department, said Cass County was awarded $21,882 from the <br />Federal Government and the funds will be used for law enforcement equipment purchases. Mrs. <br />Schneider invited public comment at this time, and hearing none, closed the discussion. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to close the public hearing <br />on 1997 Law Enforcement Block Grant Funds received from the Federal <br />Government for expenditure during the 1998 budget year. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />
