<br />Commission Minutes--February 6, 2006 3032 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to adopt a resolution in <br />support of the GDU (Garrison Diversion Unit) Import to the Sheyenne <br />River Alternative for the Red River Valley Water Supply Project; and <br />that Commissioner Pawluk be authorized to testify in support of North <br />Dakota's preferred alternative at a public hearing to be held in Fargo <br />on February 15, 2006. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />12. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />Mr. Pawluk inquired about the voucher review and approval process. Mr. Montplaisir said a. <br />staff member in his office reviews all the bills and prepares a list, which is presented to the <br />county commission for evaluation and the board's approval before checks are mailed. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />204,291 through Voucher No. 204,689. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />13. MEETING UPDATES; HORACE ROAD MEETING; COURTHOUSE BUILDING <br />COMMITTEE ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING; BUDGET REPORTS FROM AUDITOR; <br />CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS, Committee reports <br />Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, <br />as well as upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Commissioners Pawluk, Sorum, Bennett and Vanyo, as well as county staff, attended a <br />meeting with the Horace City Commissioners on January 31, 2006 at the Horace City Hall <br />concerning County Road 17 access issues. Both boards agreed towork together on future <br />road issues and continue to hold informal meetings periodically. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner said he scheduled an organizational meeting of the courthouse building <br />committee for 3:45 PM on Friday, February 24, 2006, in the Commission Room. <br /> <br />Mr. Vanyo suggested that the county auditor take some time at a future meeting to explain <br />the recently distributed budget reports from his department. Mr. Montplaisir said the <br />purpose of the budget reports is to be more proactive so all departments can more readily <br />see their line item balances and know their budget status. <br /> <br />Mr. Bennett talked with the state's attorney about condemnation proceedings and the <br />subsequent award of damages. Mr. Burdick said some clarification may be needed in the <br />future to determine if this board wants the condemnation review board to come back to the <br />county commission with their findings. <br /> <br />14. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br />
