A majority of commissioners felt <br />they could support changing the travel reimbursement policy for meetings <br />outside the metropolitan area. <br /> <br />AMENDED MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to amend Commission Policy, <br />Section 13.80, to state that County Commissioners can receive travel <br />reimbursement by documenting trips on a county voucher for travel to any <br />meeting outside the metropolitan area, effective January 1, 1998. At the <br />call for the question and upon roll call vote, the amended motion carried <br />with four members voting "Aye" and Mrs. Schneider opposing. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />STATE'S ATTORNEY ASSOCIATION; BONANZAVILLE PIONEER DAYS; SALARY SURVEY; <br />SOCIAL SERVICES BUDGET MEETING; SOCIAL SERVICES TEEM WORKERS; BUDGET GOAL <br />FOR 1998, Committee reports <br />John Goff, State's Attorney, extended an invitation for commissioners to attend any portion of the <br />North Dakota State's Attorney's convention being held this week at the Fargo Doublewood Inn. <br /> <br />Several commissioners participated in the Pioneer Days celebration held at Bonanzaville over the <br />past weekend. <br /> <br />Fox Lawson & Associates has received twelve completed salary surveys and expect 11 more within <br />the week, according to the County Coordinator. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider said the budget session for Social Services was continued from last Friday morning <br />until Wednesday, August 27th, in the Annex basement meeting room. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider reported Social Services TEEM workers have filed an appeal on the decision <br />regarding salary adjustments, and she will be meeting with them this week. <br /> <br />In the past, Mr. Wieland said the Board of Commissioners set a budget goal of maintaining the mill <br />levy at the current level, and he asked if this Board intends to set a budget goal. MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to set a budget goal of <br /> 65 mills for the 1998 county budget. Discussion: It was noted this would <br /> represent a small increase over the current budget. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
