Commission Minutes--June 2, 1997 1638 e) Upon occurrence, notify the Administrator in writing whenever the boundaries of the community have been modified by annexation or the community has otherwise assumed or no longer has authority to adopt and enforce floodplain management regulations for a particular area. In order that all Flood Hazard Boundary Maps and Flood Insurance Rate Maps accurately represent the community, boundaries, included within such notification a copy of a map of the community suitable for reproduction, clearly delineating the new corporate limits or new area for which the community has assumed or relinquished flood plain management regulatory authority. 3) Appoints Cass County Planning to maintain for public inspection and to furnish upon request, for the determination of applicable flood insurance risk premium rates within all areas having special flood hazards identified on a Flood Hazard Boundary Map or Flood Insurance Rate Map, any certificates of flood-proofing, and information on the elevation (in relation to mean sea level) of the level of the lowest floor (including basement) of all new or substantially improved structures, and include whether or not such structures contain a basement, and if the structure has been flood-proofed the elevation (in relation to mean sea level) to which the structure was flood-proofed. 4) Agrees to take such other official action as may be reasonably necessary to carry out the objectives of the program. FLOOD UPDATE, Hazard Mitigation Program Mr. Ellingsberg informed the Commission that 113 applications have been filed for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. Of that number, 23 want to participate in a buy-out plan; 17 homes want dikes; 4 subdivisions wish to have ring dikes (24 homes in Brooktree Park, 19 in Sunrise Acres, 3 in Forest River and some in Chrisan); two individuals are interested in relocating and one individual was interested in elevating the home. He said 26 of the 113 applicants are unsure of which option to consider. Mr. Wieland received a copy of information addressed to the Reed Township Board regarding the Lake Shure area, and he forwarded it to Mr. Ellingsberg. It was then referred to the County Engineer, according to Mr. Ellingsberg. 17. WORK PLANS, Completed by County_ De_oartments Commissioners reported that work plan reports were completed by all departments, and Mr. Wieland asked that the reports be filed with the County Coordinator. Mrs. Schneider said two departments in her portfolio, Extension Service and Veterans Service, expressed some concerns about office space. She directed them to write a letter requesting a meeting of the County Space and Planning Committee. 18. VOUCHERS, Ap_nroved MOTION, passed Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve Vouchers No. 102,893 through No. 103,320. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.
