Commission Minutes--June 2, 1997 1638 <br /> <br />e) <br /> <br />Upon occurrence, notify the Administrator in writing whenever the boundaries <br />of the community have been modified by annexation or the community has <br />otherwise assumed or no longer has authority to adopt and enforce floodplain <br />management regulations for a particular area. In order that all Flood Hazard <br />Boundary Maps and Flood Insurance Rate Maps accurately represent the <br />community, boundaries, included within such notification a copy of a map of the <br />community suitable for reproduction, clearly delineating the new corporate <br />limits or new area for which the community has assumed or relinquished flood <br />plain management regulatory authority. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Appoints Cass County Planning to maintain for public inspection and to furnish upon request, <br />for the determination of applicable flood insurance risk premium rates within all areas having <br />special flood hazards identified on a Flood Hazard Boundary Map or Flood Insurance Rate <br />Map, any certificates of flood-proofing, and information on the elevation (in relation to mean <br />sea level) of the level of the lowest floor (including basement) of all new or substantially <br />improved structures, and include whether or not such structures contain a basement, and if <br />the structure has been flood-proofed the elevation (in relation to mean sea level) to which the <br />structure was flood-proofed. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Agrees to take such other official action as may be reasonably necessary to carry out the <br />objectives of the program. <br /> <br />Dated at Fargo, North Dakota, this 2nd day of June, 1997. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />FLOOD UPDATE, Hazard Mitigation Program <br />Mr. Ellingsberg informed the Commission that 113 applications have been filed for the Hazard <br />Mitigation Grant Program. Of that number, 23 want to participate in a buy-out plan; 17 homes want <br />dikes; 4 subdivisions wish to have ring dikes (24 homes in Brooktree Park, 19 in Sunrise Acres, 3 <br />in Forest River and some in Chrisan); two individuals are interested in relocating and one individual <br />was interested in elevating the home. He said 26 of the 113 applicants are unsure of which option <br />to consider. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland received a copy of information addressed to the Reed Township Board regarding the <br />Lake Shure area, and he forwarded it to Mr. Ellingsberg. It was then referred to the County <br />Engineer, according to Mr. Ellingsberg. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />WORK PLANS, Completed by County_ De_oartments <br />Commissioners reported that work plan reports were completed by all departments, and Mr. Wieland <br />asked that the reports be filed with the County Coordinator. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider said two departments in her portfolio, Extension Service and Veterans Service, <br />expressed some concerns about office space. She directed them to write a letter requesting a <br />meeting of the County Space and Planning Committee. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, Ap_nroved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve Vouchers <br /> No. 102,893 through No. 103,320.
