The department is moving ahead with the annual construction program, <br />however, the County Road 20 re-shaping project may be deferred at this time. <br /> <br />As far as removal of sandbags from rural areas, Mr. Berndt said that program has been successful <br />and is nearly completed by County Road Department staff. <br /> <br />COMMISSION ASSIGNMENTS <br />Mr. Wieland suggested assigning commissioners to certain areas rather than all five being involved <br />in a specific situation. Mrs. Schneider will continue to work with Social Services; Mrs. Quick with <br />the County Engineer; Mr. Meyer with the Red River south of Fargo; Mr. Koenig with the Red River <br />north of Fargo; and Mr. VVieland will field calls concerning the Sheyenne and Maple Rivers. <br /> <br />It was noted that FEMA will hold an orientation on May 27, 1997, from 9:00 AM to Noon in the <br />basement meeting room of the County Annex for all human service agencies on the flood recovery <br />process for families.
