She reported on the response of the following work groups <br />established during the flood crisis: housing, clean-up, donations, unmet needs, health care and <br />community response. <br /> <br />Mrs. Hogan said a number of routine activities have been discontinued, including performance <br />appraisals for April, documentation for the re-classification requests that are due May 1st, and <br />the Social Services work plan. County work plan reports are being postponed until June, and Mr. <br />Wieland suggested delaying the next Personnel Overview Committee meeting, at which re- <br />classification requests will be received, until May 19th. Commissioners were in agreement. <br /> <br />Disaster Emergency Services-Glenn Ellingsberg reported on his role as coordinator for the <br />various agencies who have been assisting with the flood situation, including the military and State <br />and Federal government. He said people affected by the flooding must begin the process of <br />seeking help by contacting FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). He said the U.S. <br />Coast Guard and Corps of Engineers will continue operating out of the Cass County EOC <br />(Emergency Operations Center) until the end of this week. <br /> <br />BUDGET PROCEDURES; LEGISLATIVE WRAP-UP; SOCIAL SERVICES MEETING; FLOOD <br />WORK; JAIL TASK FORCE; EAST CENTRAL COMMISSION MEETING, Committee reports <br />Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, asked how the commissioners want to approach the budget <br />process this year. A meeting will be scheduled before the next Commission meeting on Monday, <br />May 5th, to discuss 1998 budget procedures. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir will be attending the North Dakota Association of Counties legislative wrap-up <br />session in Bismarck tomorrow; as well as Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, who is on the <br />agenda for the event. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider reported on the Southeast and South Central Social Service Directors meeting <br />held April 16th in Valley City, ND. <br /> <br />Commissioners reported on flood-related activities during the past 2-3 weeks and complimented <br />county staff on all of their efforts. Mrs. Schneider said county response has been phenomenal. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland reminded commissioners of the Jail Task Force meeting at 7:00 PM tonight in the <br />Commission Room at the Courthouse. <br /> <br />The East Central Commissioners Association met recently in Valley City, and Mr. Wieland <br />reported that Stutsman County has now joined the other six counties in this association. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Quick moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />notice of Cass County Historical Society holding raffle drawing on May 15th instead of <br />April 24th due to the flood situation throughout the county; <br /> <br />- City of Fargo Customs Activity report. <br /> <br /> <br />
