Commission Minutes--September 30, 1996 1516 DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SEPTEMBER 30, 1996 MEETING TO ORDER Chairman Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as follows: Don Eckert, Alon Wieland, Donna Schneider, Bernie Ness and Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Ness seconded to approve the order of the agenda, adding a Road Department request for the Weed Control Officer and appointment of State Fair delegates to the consent agenda. Motion carried. JAIL STAFF, Out-of-state travel approved MOTION, passed Mr. Ness moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve out-of-state travel for Michael O'Malley, Michele Boucher and Linda Skogen to attend the "Corrective Thought Process" seminar in Minneapolis, MN on October 10 and 11, 1996. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. SOCIAL SERVICES, Out-of-state travel approved MOTION, passed Mr. Ness moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve out-of-sate travel for Nancy Pillen, Social Services employee, to attend the National Federation of Families Meeting in Washington, D.C. on November 14-17, 1996. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. PERSONNEL OVERVIEW COMMITTEE, Actions of September 16, 1996 ratified MOTION, passed Mr. Ness moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to eliminate Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company; Capitol American; American Family Life Assurance Company; and American Heritage Life Insurance Company as Cass County payroll deductions effective January 1, 1997. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.
