Comm. Minutes--September 27, 1994 1254 <br /> <br />CLERK OF DISTRICT COURT, New position to begin May 1~ 1995~ eliminated <br />Mrs. Toussaint said that due to uncertainties with the court <br />consolidation, she suggests that one of the three new positions be <br />eliminated. This position was to begin May 1, 1995. <br /> <br />Ms. Kathy Ziegelmann, Director of Child Support Enforcement, said that <br />the Clerk of District Court's Office is directly affected by her <br />office's output. Also, the clerk's office has not requested any <br />additional staff for at least five years. MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Ness seconded to eliminate <br /> the new position for Clerk of District Court that was to <br /> begin May 1, 1995. On roll call vote, motion passed with <br /> three members voting "Aye", Mr. Risher and Mr. Eckert <br /> voting "No." <br /> <br />SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Fleet request reduced by two vehicles <br />Mrs. Toussaint said the Sheriff's Department has a fleet of 40 vehicles. <br />The department is requesting 10 new vehicles for 1995. She suggested <br />eliminating 2 vehicles for a savings of $32,000. She also suggested <br />eliminating 2 vehicles from the Sheriff's fleet. Mr. Eckert said he <br />would support a reduction of 1 vehicle from next year's budget. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to reduce <br /> the Sheriff Department 1995 vehicle request by two <br /> vehicles and to eliminate two vehicles from the Sheriff <br /> Department fleet· On roll call vote, motion carried with <br /> four members voting "Aye", Mr. Eckert voting "No." <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Transfer ~115,000 to general fund <br />County Engineer Keith Berndt said the transfer of $115,000 to the county <br />general fund is for services provided to the Road Department by other <br />county departments. Mr. Montplaisir said this transfer is for the Road <br />Department's portion of cost allocation for the county's administrative <br />offices. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Ness seconded to budget a <br /> transfer of $115,000 from the Road Department to the <br /> county general fund. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously· <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, Budget reduced by ~50,000 <br />Mrs. Toussaint said she requested budget information from Economic <br />Development and was concerned with high travel expenses. Since county <br />departments are trying to be conservative with travel expenses, she <br />suggested reducing the Job Development levy by $50,000. This reduction <br />would not affect the loan pool. MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Ness seconded to reduce the <br /> Economic Development budget by $50,000. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried with three members voting "Aye", Mr. <br /> Wieland and Mr. Risher voting "No." <br /> <br /> <br />
