Commission Minutes--December 19, 2005 3017

20. VOUCHERS, Approved
MOTION, passed
Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve Voucher No.
203,163 through Voucher No. 203,625. On roll call vote, the motion
carried unanimously.

21. JAIL CAMERAS; OVER DIMENSION VEHICLE FINE; MEETINGS, Committee reports
Mrs. Johnson said the security camera manufacturer has agreed to provide replacement
cameras at the jail. The company will provide 49 more cameras to be installed at no cost to
the county. This is in addition to the twenty already shipped to the jail last month.

Mr. Montplaisir said the county received the first fine from the new ordinance on over-
dimension vehicles. The fine was for $28,700. He asked the commission about whether
the revenue should initially go into the general fund to help defray costs for purchasing a
new sheriff vehicle associated with this program. He said after this first fine, the revenue
could then go into the road department fund. Mr. Pawluk felt the funds should go to the
Road Department. Mr. Wagner suggested an 80/20 match, with a portion of the funds to go
to the Sheriff's Department and a portion to the Road Department. Since there is not a
consensus on what should be done with the revenue from fines, he will schedule it for
consideration at a future commission meeting.

Commissioners reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks.

22. PUBLIC COMMENT
David Habiger, rural Amenia, commented on the item to change elected offices to become
appointed by the commission. He said the offices of auditor, treasurer and recorder are
important and feels it would be a gross injustice to take away a citizen's right to vote.

23. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION, passed
On motion by Mr. Wagner, seconded by Mr. Vanyo, and all in favor, the
meeting was adjourned at 4:20 PM.

ATTEST:

~:PROVED:

D !
