On December 6, the auger system on one of <br />our existing spreaders broke, disabling it. This is one of the older units we had <br />planned to replace in 2006, and repairing it would not be economical. Because <br />the loss of the use of this spreader will impact ice control, we have solicited <br />bids from local vendors in order to get a replacement as quickly as possible. <br />Typically this item would have been bid at a later date with the remaining truck <br />equipment, but I would like to order as soon as possible to have it operational <br />in early 2006. Bids will be received on December 16th, with the results <br />forwarded to the Commission Secretary immediately thereafter. <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: Authorize Chairman to sign purchase order for <br />one salt/sand spreader.
