WEED CONTROL BOARD MEMBERSHIP, Delayed until March meeting Mr. Ness suggested delaying a decision on weed control board member- ship since there are two options for restructuring the board to allow representation as requested by the City of West Fargo, in accordance with North Dakota Century Code, Section 63-01.1-04. MOTION, passed Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to table a decision on Cass County Weed Control Board membership until the first meeting in March. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. VOUCHERS, Approved Mr. Risher reviewed bills this month and had his questions answered by the Auditor's Office. Mr. Ness suggested seeking department head input on the merits of having music on the telephone line when callers are on hold. He said the cost was $600 this year, and he wants to review it before renewing the contract next year. MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve Vouchers No. 57,326 through No. 58,368. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS; BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS; "TOOL CHEST BILL"; CDBG FLOOD STUDY; COMMISSION MEETING CANCELLED, Committee reports Bonnie Johnson said it appears she will continue as acting Cass County Superintendent of Schools until June because most of the applicants for the position are not available until after the current school year. Chairman Risher informed the commission that he sent a letter to Bonnie Johnson last week thanking her for the many "hats" she wears in Cass County Government. Mr. Ness added his thanks to Bonnie Johnson for coordinating the work of the maintenance department and keeping everything going at a time when one employee was on medical leave and the other had resigned. Referring to a memo from Bonnie Johnson on the "tool chest bill," Mrs. Toussaint said this warrants discussion during a commission meeting, and it was agreeable to place it on a future meeting agenda. Mr. Montplaisir reported that the Community Development Block Grant for flood study was awarded, and he thinks the commission should invite members of the respective water resource district to a future commission meeting to determine who will administer the grant. Since two commissioners will be gone at the time of the next regularly scheduled commission meeting, February 22nd, and due to a short agenda so far, Chairman Risher suggested cancelling that meeting.
