Comm. Minutes--May 17, 1993 1028 DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ. REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MAY 17, 1993 MEETING TO ORDER Chairman Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with four members present as follows: Don Eckert, Steve Risher, Bernie M. Ness and Sharon Toussaint. Alon Wieland was absent. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Ness seconded that the minutes from the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried· AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve the order of the agenda with the following changes: 1) remove the request for approval of Wild Rice River Estates Subdivision, per telephone call of Bonnie Rutten to Chairman Toussaint on this date; 2) add contracts to item f on the consent agenda for road paving and seal coats, for county planning services and for computer information services; 3) appointment of Commissioner Ness to election committee. Motion carried. "SHARON DARDIS DAY" PROCLAMATION MOTION, passed Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Risher seconded that May 24, 1993, be proclaimed Sharon Dardis Day in Cass County, thereby allowing all agencies and private citizens to publicly thank her for her leadership and dedication concerning the children's bereavement program for Hospice of the Red River Valley. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. Mr. Risher read the proclamation and presented it to Mrs. Dardis at this time, along with a similar proclamation from the City of Fargo. WEED CONTROL, DIRECTOR OF TAX, SOCIAL SERVICES, Out-of-state travel MOTION, passed Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Risher seconded to approve out-of- state travel for Wayne Colberg, Weed Officer, to attend a public hearing concerning the National Wildlife Refuge System May 25-26, 1993, in Bloomington, MN. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. MOTION, passed Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Risher seconded to approve out-of- state travel for Frank Klein, Director of Tax Equalization, to attend the North Central Association of Assessing Officers Conference on June 10-12, 1993, in Overland Park, KS. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.
