On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />13. <br /> <br />PRAIRIE PUBLIC BROADCASTING, Statement of compliance MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to provide a <br /> letter of support to Prairie Public Broadcasting indicating <br /> compliance with Cass County's Comprehensive Land Use Plan <br /> to be submitted with their application to Farmers Home <br /> Administration for funding special projects. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, Contract for deed to Lynn and Cora Ridder <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to authorize the <br /> Vice Chair and the County Auditor to sign a contract for <br /> deed with Lynn H. and Cora M. Ridder of Casselton. On roll <br /> call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />15. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, Bridge replacement MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to authorize Vice <br /> Chair and County Auditor to sign resolution for the North <br /> Dakota Department of Transportation to award contract for <br /> bridge replacement on County Road 34, Project BRC 0914 (51) <br /> over the Red River, to Industrial Builders of Fargo in the <br /> amount of $540,431.60, without accepting alternate bid item <br /> of painting. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS PLAN/1993 BUDGET OPTIONS, Amendment <br />approved, to be signed, forward to Department of Public Instruction <br />County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson received a telephone call from Pat <br />Laubach, North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (DPI), stating <br />that DPI would now accept an amendment to superintendent of schools <br />plan for Cass County allowing the county to change the position to <br />half-time because of budget constraints and suggesting the amendment <br />process be completed prior to January 1, 1993, at which time the <br />superintendent of schools position becomes an appointed position. Ms. <br />Laubach said DPI will approve such an amendment with a suggestion that <br />Cass County consider combining this office with an office in another <br />county to employ one full-time superintendent. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to approve the <br /> following amendment to the Superintendent of School's Plan <br /> for Cass County, to obtain necessary signatures and forward <br /> to the Department of Public Instruction to be included with <br /> Cass County's Plan as submitted earlier this year: "Because <br /> of budget constraints in Cass County, North Dakota, we <br /> hereby amend the Cass County plan to include the following <br /> options: 1) to staff the office at less than full-time as <br /> deemed appropriate by the Board of County Commissioners, <br /> 2) to combine the superintendent offices of two or more <br /> counties, regardless of school-age population." On roll <br /> call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
