Minutes--August 3, 1992 898 <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />The Sheriff said his department will be reviewing jail policies, and <br />Mr. Shannon suggested putting resources together and he offered <br />Commission assistance. He said Cass County Government needs a well- <br />defined jail policy that says why a jail is provided. Meaningful <br />training can only happen when there are adequate policies to follow, <br />he said. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, Approved <br />Mrs. Toussaint asked the Commission Secretary to obtain information <br />from department heads before budget sessions begin on what dues and <br />amounts Cass County Government is paying on their behalf. MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Risher seconded to <br /> approve vouchers No. 39,324 through No. 40,186. On <br /> roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS, Book case for Commission Room, preliminary budget, <br />fuel tank removal, joint dispatch update <br />Mr. Shannon asked Bonnie Johnson to get a book case from the north <br />wing storage, have it repaired and moved to the Commission Room. <br /> <br />The Auditor said most departments have submitted 1993 budget requests, <br />and he will soon schedule rotational meetings with each department. <br />He plans to have the preliminary budget complete by the end of August. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Commission that Mr. Eckert proceed with <br />making the proper notification of intent to remove an underground fuel <br />tank and wait the required 30 days before having it removed. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland said the Joint Dispatch Committee met July 28th, 1992, and <br />another meeting is scheduled in 2-3 weeks to formalize a joint powers <br />agreement. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Risher seconded to receive <br /> and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as <br /> follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />notice that State Board of Equalization will convene August, 4th, <br />5th and llth in the State Capitol; <br /> <br />National Association of Counties (NACo) information letter on <br />Fair Labor Standards Act Reforms; <br /> <br />letter from Metropolitan Council of Governments on contracting <br />for planning services; <br /> <br />Cass County Historical Society request for continuation of <br />mill for historical preservation (referred to County Auditor); <br /> <br />letter from Red River Joint Water Resource Board on 1993 budget <br />allocations to four Water Resource Districts in Cass County <br />(referred to County Auditor); <br /> <br /> <br />
