<br />COURT/ TRANSPORT OFFICER <br /> <br />This is a regular deputy position and is responsible for the coordination of activities relating to facility <br />security, inmate movement and court activities requiring the presence of a deputy. Is responsible to the <br />Transport Supervisor. <br /> <br />A. DUTIES <br /> <br />1. Coordinate court activities and outside appointment schedules with supervisors on a daily basis. <br /> <br />2. Check and update inmate files ensuring accuracy and making changes as necessary. <br /> <br />3. Account for all bail money posted at the jail and delivering same to the proper court or office. <br /> <br />4. Escort inmates to court proceedings or other appointments on a timely basis. <br /> <br />5. Escorts inmates in a manner which will ensure the utmost safety and security for the inmate and <br />the public. <br /> <br />6. Supervise courtroom proceedings and maintain order by observing all persons in the courtroom, <br />quelling any disturbances, enforcing all court orders. <br /> <br />7. Greet and Screen visitors to designated county buildings which have been identified as requiring <br />additional safety and security. Monitor courthouse activity and individuals to deter those that <br />would disrupt county business and to detect items which would be inappropriate or illegal to <br />bring in to county buildings. Respond to disturbances or incidents as a licensed peace officer. <br /> <br />8. Report and document all incidents which occur during transport of inmates outside of the facility. <br /> <br />9. Serve criminal warrants, civil actions and perform other law enforcement duties which may <br />pertain to court activities. <br /> <br />10. Purchase and deliver supplies for the jail as needed or requested. <br /> <br />11. Provide training and supervision for correctional officers regarding court procedures, security, <br />and other courses as directed by the Correctional Service's Group Commander. <br /> <br />12. Perform in and out of county inmate transportation duties as assigned. <br /> <br />13. Other duties as assigned by section or Shift Supervisors. <br /> <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />1 . Must meet and pass all state and Department training and education requirements. <br /> <br />2. Must hold NDak Peace Officer License. <br /> <br />3. Be proficient in the use of all assigned equipment. <br /> <br />4. Must be certified to do CPR. <br /> <br />5. Must be able to walk, run, lift, and carry and have sufficient dexterity in both limbs to qualify with <br />a firearm and perform other manual tasks associated with law enforcement. <br /> <br />6. Must be capable of physical activities which may involve restraining or arresting individual(s). <br /> <br />7. Eyesight correctable to 20/20 and hearing within normal audible range <br /> <br />8. Must be capable of both verbal and written skills that would enable one to communicate <br />effectively with individuals of various mental capacities and professions. <br />
