Budget Minutes--September 4, 1991 725 <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />Capital projects <br />Funds for a maintenance garage were reduced to $10,000. Mr. Risher <br />suggested considering renting storage off-premises for out-of-season <br />equipment. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir suggested putting estate tax monies into a sinking <br />fund for capital projects, and this will be included in the commission <br />policy manual being developed. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />Fargo-Cass County Economic Development is planning a new four year <br />marketing program, and thereby requested $131,400 more than last year. <br />Mr. Wieland suggested trying to get this marketing program on the <br />ballot so the taxpayers can vote on it. <br /> <br />COUNTY LOAN LEVY <br />Mr. Montplaisir said one mill levied for three years would retire the <br />note for remodeling the jail and former sheriff's residence. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUDGET <br />The Commission travel budget was increased to $10,000 because Kaye <br />Braaten asked Mr. Shannon to serve on a national committee, requiring <br />him to attend about four meetings; and because all Commissioners may <br />want to attend the 1992 National Association of Counties convention <br />being held in Minneapolis next June. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir said the Commission budget provides for a <br />position, presently held by County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson. <br />feels this is a necessary position. <br /> <br />ne~v <br /> He <br /> <br />HISTORICAL SOCIETY <br />A decision was made to remove the additional $5,000 requested by the <br />Cass County Historical Society. <br /> <br />HEALTH INSURANCE FUND <br />The County Benefits Committee has been reviewing health insurance <br />plans and considering a plan with higher deductibles to offset an <br />increase in premiums for 1992. <br /> <br />MEETING ADJOURNED <br />The meeting was adjourned about noon. <br /> <br />ATTEST: APPROVED: <br /> <br />Michael Montplaisir - County Auditor <br />Cass County, North Dakota <br /> <br />Cass County Commission <br /> <br /> <br />
