Board of Equalization Meeting--June 4, 199! 687 <br /> <br />MOTION, Fail. ed for lack of a second <br />Mr. Risher moved to defer action until the City of <br />Briarwood's assessor can meet with the county board of <br />equalization. Motion failed for lack of a second. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that all <br />residential structures in the City of Briarwood be <br />increased 12% as recommended by the county director of tax <br />equalization. At the call for the question and on roll <br />call vote, all members present voted "Aye." <br /> <br />MANCHESTER OFFICE BUILDING, Assessment stands <br />Mr. Vern Kepler, Manager of the Manchester Building, requested that <br />the county board of equalization reduce the assessment on this <br />property in the city of Fargo to $602,740 based on its net operating <br />income. He said the vacancy rate has been consistent at 25% for the <br />past 3 years. <br /> <br />Fargo City Assessor Ben Huschka said the City of Fargo recommends a <br />value of $1,326,000 for 1991. He said the income approach is not the <br />only indicator of value, and he said the city assessor's office <br />develops an appraisal system where all properties are taxed equally. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Risher seconded to sustain the <br /> assessment on the Manchester Building at $1,326,000 as <br /> recommended by the Fargo Assessor's Office and county <br /> director of tax equalization.
