Comm. Minutes--April 15, 1991 656 Mrs. Toussaint reported that Cass County was awarded a state-wide pilot project grant for the Social Service welfare fraud investigator position. Mr. Eckert asked about plans for the former Gethsemane Cathedral property east of the Courthouses specifically about keeping the green area watered. This item will be discussed later in the spring. Mr. Eckert and John Goff were asked to continue negotiating with West Fargo and the State Highway Department on payment of Main Avenue lighting west of West Fargo. 22. TENTH STREET TRAFFIC STUDY, Metro COG asked to assist No one objected to the Chairman sending a letter to the Metropolitan Council of Governments along with a resolution from department heads and the Commission requesting assistance to study and make recommendations to improve safe passage for pedestrians crossing Tenth Street between Second Avenue South and Third Avenue South in Fargo. 23. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. letter of thanks from the American Red Cross, Minn-Kota Chapter, to Commissioners Gene Shannon, Sharon Toussaint and Steve Risher for carrying out bags of groceries at "Sunmart Days" recently; North Dakota Association of Counties information on the NACo convention in July in Salt Lake City, Utah; copy of letter to Bonnie Johnson from Yeater Hennings Ruff Shultz Rokke Architects providing copies of general conditions, supplementary conditions and agreement for storing materials or equipment off-site for the jail and sheriff residence improvements project; letter from Cass County Township Officers' Association that William Thompson of Page, Gordon Blixt of Gardner and Leslie Roach of Wheatland were designated to attend future meetings on road concerns; memo from Bonnie Johnson updating commissioners on the status of her work activities after the first six months of her assignment as temporary county coordinator; Disaster Emergency Services response to Commission's request for clarification on local emergency cooperative agreement work plan for FY 1991; letter from Sheriff Department dated April 1, 1991 regarding vehicles;
