Minutes--January 25, 1990 418 <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JANUARY 25, 1990, 8:00 A.M. <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Gene Shannon called the meeting to order with all members <br />present as follows: Oscar Sondrall, Alon Wieland, Don Eckert, Sharon <br />"Pepper" Toussaint, and Gene Shannon. <br /> <br />SOCIAL SERVICES, Community Survival Program <br />Mr. Shannon said this special meeting was called for the purpose of <br />considering the Community Survival Program· Mrs. Toussaint said she <br />met with Social Services Director Tom Jensen, Accountant Jerry <br />Skjonsby, and Jim Berglie, Administrator of the Community Survival <br />Program, who were all present at this time. MOT£ON, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to continue <br /> the Community Survival Program under the County for 1990 <br /> and to retain the salaries of the employees at their <br /> current salary schedule as was scheduled for 1989; also to <br /> request a written notice 30 days in advance of any possible <br /> need for county funds and/or a quarterly financial report <br /> to be delivered to the Chairman of the Social Services <br /> Board, as it is the intention that Community Survival will <br /> not be funded in any way by the County; and at the same <br /> time, the financial report is submitted, a written progress <br /> report regarding the future of Community Survival going <br /> private· <br /> Discussion: Mrs. Toussaint said retaining the 1989 salary <br /> schedule will reduce the Community Survival Program budget <br /> by approximately $30,000. Mr. Shannon asked if Mr. Berglie <br /> is continuing to explore avenues for private funding, and <br /> Mr. Berglie said a committee has started working on this <br /> and he will keep the Commission updated. He said he is <br /> agreeable with the motion as stated by Mrs. Toussaint. <br /> At the call for the question and upon roll call vote, the <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> On motion by Mr. Wieland and seconded by Mrs. Toussaint, <br /> the Chairman declared the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
