Comm. Minutes--September 25, 1989 350 <br /> <br />NOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to continue <br />the Lake Agassiz Regional Council and the Fargo-Cass County <br />Economic Development Corporation to Thursday morning. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />42. <br /> <br />HISTORICAL SOCIETY <br />NOTION, passed <br />Mr. Shannon moved to adopt the budget for the Historical <br />Society with the stipulations that the County escrow the <br />funds subject to: a) providing an opportunity for the <br />Historical Society to establish a committee consisting of <br />three members appointed by the County Commission, three <br />members appointed by Lila Hutchinson, and three members <br />appointed by the President of the Historical Society and <br />that those names be submitted to the County Commission by <br />October 17 so the Commission has an indication of whether <br />they are interested in pursuing this, b) a freeze <br />initiated by the County Commission on any movement of <br />buildings or any construction of buildings, or any other <br />activities that customarily engaged the Commission's <br />permission, c) that this study group be charged with <br />delivering to the Commission recommendations, policy <br />statement and implementation of a long range plan which <br />will specifically addresses the bull dozer, the slab on <br />which the bull dozer sits, the potential building around <br />the bull dozer, all facets of the railroad whether a track <br />is to be done or not to be done, if suitable conditions can <br />be obtained from the Fair Board and other players involved <br />if it is to be or not to be, and d) that the County <br />Commission be given assurances from the consensus of the <br />Historical Society Board that they will be conforming to <br />standard financial accounting practices, and that the <br />question of hiring a curator will be addressed and a <br />recommendation made and that generally speaking the <br />overlying direction is this a museum only or is this a <br />museum with a combination of commercial efforts and if so, <br />to what extent so that this commission may be satisfied <br />that the Cass County Historical Society and the <br />Bonanzavi]]e operation are on the way to living up to its <br />purpose. Motion seconded by Hr. Wie]and and carried. <br /> <br />43.
