TAX DEPARTMENT, CorresPondence from State <br />Correspondence was received from the State Tax Department informing <br />the County of a public information meeting to be held in Fargo on <br />Hay 30th from 1:30-3:00 PH at the Town House Motor Inn to e×p]ain <br />changes to North Dakota tax laws enacted by the 1989 Legislature. <br /> <br />31. SHERIFF DEPARTMENT, Out of state travel MOTION, passed <br /> Upon the request of Sheriff Don Rudnick, Mr. Wieland moved <br /> and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to approve out of state travel <br /> for Kathy Simmons and Kelly Idso to attend a conference 'in <br /> Minneapolis, HN on Hay 23-25, 1989. On roll call vote, the <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />32. SOCIAL SERVICES, Out of state travel MOTION, passed <br /> Upon the request of County Social Services, Mr. Sondr-all <br /> moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to approve out of state <br /> travel for Paul White to attend a conference in <br /> Minneapolis, HN on May 21-23, 1989. Motion carried. <br /> <br />33. NACO, Annual conference <br />Information was received from the National Association of Counties <br />regarding the annual convention to be held in Cincinnati, Ohio on <br />July 15-18. Mr. Wieland felt one of the other Commissioners should <br />attend, and the voting credentials were referred to Mr. Shannon. <br /> <br />34, SALARY GRADING AND DEPARTMENT HEADS EVALUATION <br />Mr. Wieland reported that he attended a meeting this morning with <br />Social Services, and salary grading is being done with the hope of <br />being completed for Commission action at the June meeting. He also <br />reported that evaluation forms will be sent from the Personnel Office <br />to be completed by County department heads. <br /> <br />35. COMMISSION RECEIVING COMPLAINTS, Follow-up suggested <br />Hrs. Toussaint stated that she tried calling Mr. Dennis Oye, who <br />brought a complaint to the Commission a few weeks ago. She felt a <br />Commissioner should follow up on any complaints, but stated that she <br />was unable to contact Mr. Oye. Hr. Eckert stated that he spoke to <br />the County Engineer about Mr. Oye's complaint, and will also try to <br />contact Mr. Oye. <br /> <br />36. VOUCHERS QUESTIONED, Update <br />Mr. Shannon asked the Chairman about the status of two vouchers which <br />were questioned at the last meeting, and Mr. Eckert gave' an <br />explanation and stated that he did approve them for payment. <br /> <br />37. JAIL ADVISORY COMMITTEE, All names submitted <br />Chairman Eckert stated that all names have been provided for the <br />makeup of the Jail Advisory Committee, and Mr. Wieland suggested that <br />the Sheriff send a letter to all members inviting them to an <br />organizational meeting to be held in the next 2-3 weeks. <br /> <br /> <br />
