136 <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to cancel the <br />October 18th Cass County Commission meeting because of the North <br />Dakota County Commissioners Convention being held in Bismarck. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to approve a raffle <br />permit for the Wheatland Rod and Gun Club on December 15, 1988, at <br />Wheatland. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive a check <br />from the North Dakota Attorney General's Office in the amount of <br />$933.54 representing 2/5 of the gaming tax payback; and that the <br />cheek be referred to the County Sheriff's Department to be used for <br />the enforcement of State gaming laws. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sondrall suggested that the County Planner be asked to <br />attend a meeting of the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department <br />concerning development of a State park in southeastern North Dakota, <br />and the Board was in agreement that he should attend. Mrs. Stanton <br />stated that she asked the County Planner to attend a meeting in <br />Jamestown on solid waste disposal for informational purposes. <br /> <br /> Upon the request of Alvin Johnson, Mrs. Stanton moved and <br />Mr. Larson seconded that County Social Services be authorized to hire <br />staff replacement for Ruth Swain as an Eligibility Specialist in Pay <br />Grade 17. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Charon Johnson, Mr. Russ Dusinske, and Mr. Richard Fenske <br />representing the Garrison Diversion Conservancy District appeared <br />before the Board as requested by Cass County. They furnished a copy <br />of administrative budget for fiscal year 1988-89. A lengthy <br />discussion was held on the history of Garrison Diversion and on the <br />merits of the project. Mr. Johnson stated that the Reformulation Act <br />of 1986 includes delivering water to the Red River through the <br />Sheyenne River. The Commission asked for a more detailed budget in <br />the future and that the information be provided sooner. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded to receive and file a <br />letter from Social Services Director Tom Jensen requesting <br />six to eight additional offices and suggesting space in either the <br />property south of the Courthouse, recently purchased by Cass County, <br />or perhaps in the Sheriff's former residence adjacent to the Jail. <br />Motion carried. A copy of the letter will be given to each <br />Commissioner. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to approve out of <br />state travel for Joyoe Temanson, Social Services employee, to <br />St. Cloud, Minnesota, on November 10, 1988. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> A letter was received from the Southeastern North Dakota <br />Community Action Agency Head Start Project Director stating their <br />intent to renew the lease of the County building at 57-11th Avenue <br />North in Fargo, along with a check for $1.00 for the 1989 rental. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to renew the lease <br />agreement for $1.00 with Head Start on the same terms for 1989. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
