Box 2806
Fargo, ND 58108

Dear Cass County Commissioners,

The Kindred School Board recently met with Dennis Novacek of Dakota Ag Cooperative of
Kindred. We discussed their building expansion project south of Kindred. Dakota Ag asked for
a letter of support from the school for their tax relief request to Cass County.

The Kindred School Board met on October 11, 2005 and discussed this request. The Board
respects the fact that Dakota Ag is looking at all available financial options. There is no doubt
this expansion will add some growth to the Kindred community.

However, the School Board has taken the position to oppose this request for tax exemption. This
letter is follow up of the Board's position. Property taxes are a vital source of revenue for the
school district. The loss of this revenue would impact our school budget and ability to address
district needs.

Respectfully,

7

,/S )iev.e

~

/Jdi ,1 ~.." ....
/ I /
l'

t/ .
, 'v

Steve Hall
Superintendent

"Home of the Vikings"

-
