75 <br /> <br /> County Planner Earl Haugen was present along with Jeff Volk from <br />the Moore Engineering Company. Mr. Haugen gave an update on the <br />rural southside sewer project. He stated that the application is <br />being processed and the County should be receiving 40~ of the first <br />allowance in the next ten days. ~ special fund will be set up by the <br />County ~uditor. The next public meeting has been tentatively set for <br />~ugust lC, 1988, at '7:00 PM at the Juvenile Justice Center. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman <br />be authorized to sign the Environmental Systems and Fire Safety <br />Equipment Maintenance ~greement with Peterson Mechanical. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Upon the request of Richard Offutt, Director of ~dministrative <br />Services, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. SondraI1 seconded to pay <br />Fireside Office Products $9,099.35 for Courthouse office furnishings, <br />10~ being retained for project completion. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Upon the written request of Linda Rogers, Olerk of Cass County <br />Court, Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that she be <br />allowed to fill the position of Oourt Recorder in Pay Grade 5 to <br />replace ~lana Skogen; and to replace Judy Lawson as Criminal Clerk in <br />Pay Grade 5. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson suggested placing the Law Enforcement Center <br />discussion on the June 7th agenda, and Mrs. Stanton stated that she <br />would speak to members of the Fargo City Commission before next week. <br /> <br /> Chairman Eckert reported on a telephone call from Francis Klein <br />stating that he will accept the position of Cass County Director of <br />Tax Equalization. Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that <br />the Chairman write a letter to Mr. Klein stating that his <br />employment will be effective July 1, 1988. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and file <br />a report from the Sheriff's Office indicating there were no grounds <br />to substantiate a break-in at the Cass County Register of Deeds <br />Office. There was no visible evidence that a tool had been used to <br />pry a drawer open and possibly the damage occurred through normal <br />wear and tear. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file <br />two letters regarding correlation of soil surveys indicating that it <br />will take about 90 days to develop a cost e~timate. Motion carried. <br /> <br />~ note from the Suggestion Box indicated that flexible office <br />hours are being used in the County Social Services Department. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that ~dministrative <br />Assistant Diana Murack send a memo to all Cass County departments <br />reminding them what the County policy is, and informing them that the <br />County Commission has not deviated from that policy. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Hr. Larson seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence from the States Attorney regarding legal services for <br />the Southeast Cass Water Resource District. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
