37 <br /> <br /> Presiding Judge Norman J. Baokes, East Central Judicial <br />District, was present concerning a vacancy in the Cass County Court <br />due to the appointment of Judge Cynthia Rothe as District Judge, <br />effective March 25, 1988. '1'he Commission received a copy of a letter <br />from Judge Baokes to County Court Judge Donald Cooke offering <br />assistance if it is needed or required to maintain services until a <br />replacement is appointed for Judge Rothe in the County Court. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded to accept with <br />regrets the letter of resignation from Cynthia A. Rothe as County <br />Judge of the Cass County Court effective March 25, 1988; and that the <br />Chairman send her a letter of appreciation for her work. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> Upon written recommendation of States Attorney Robert Hoy, <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be <br />authorized to send a letter to the Secretary of the North Dakota <br />Judicial Nominating Committee advising them of a vacancy for judge in <br />Cass County Court and requesting the committee, within 60 days of <br />this notification, to submit a ii. st of qualified nominees for <br />appointment to this office. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Upon the recommendation of County Engineer Don Richards, <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to approve payment of City <br />Pothole and Street Repair Funds to the City of West Fargo in the <br />amount of $27,417 and to the City of Leonard in the amount of $468. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be <br />authorized to sign the project agreement and the operations <br />and maintenance agreement for critical area treatment project site <br />4A. Motion carried. Said agreements are on file in the office of <br />the County Engineer. <br /> <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that County <br />Engineer Don Richards be authorized to accept the informal bid of <br />Hall GMC in the amount of $14,728 for a one-ton crew cab 4-wheel <br />drive truck for the Road Department. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Don Richards be <br />authorized to proceed with the preparation for an auction sale of <br />equipment no longer needed at the Road Department, subject to <br />approval of the States Attorney. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Wieland asked Don Richards to respond to a letter <br />from Mike Gustafson regarding a bridge on the Sheyenne River east of <br />Kindred stating that no decision has been reached by the County <br />Commission on repairing or removing the bridge. <br /> <br /> <br />
