Commission Minutes-August 11,2003 2631 <br /> <br />R.E.S.T.O.R.E., Inc. <br />Penny Dale, Program Coordinator, and Robert Kaspari, President of R.E.S.T.O.R.E. (a <br />community corrections program) were present to explain the program and the budget <br />request of $20,000. Ms. Dale said the objective of the program is to monitor compliance <br />to court-ordered community service, chemical dependency evaluations and domestic <br />violence assessments. Referrals come from Juvenile Court, the East Central Judicial <br />District and the City of Fargo Municipal Court. Funding is currently provided by the <br />offenders, who pay a program fee, and grants from the North Dakota Department of <br />Corrections and block grant funds. <br /> <br />A suggestion was made to refer this request to the Social Services sponsorship program, <br />and no decision was reached today. <br /> <br />Humane Society <br />Gail Widmer provided information and statistics on the program to support their 2004 <br />budget request of $1,000. She has been discussing the idea of a municipal animal pound <br />with three area cities and will continue to pursue such a venture. <br /> <br />Capital Projects <br />Mr. Montplaisir said this request includes planning and architect fees for the design phase <br />through the bid document phase of a west addition to the courthouse and for two pods <br />being added to the jail.
