The land involved is owned by the Fargo Park District,
adjacent to the Emerson Smith Building and is located directly west of the
Cass County Annex. The lot currently has a residence on part of the lot, which
will be removed in July.

Preliminary sketches of the lot indicate about 32 spaces can be built into the
lot, while still retaining the large tree on the south side of the lot. On the
following page is a sketch of the proposed parking lot. The FPD is taking this
sketch to the city to have them review the plan for design and landscaping
requirements.

The FPD would supply the cleared land for the lot with the county paying for
the improvements. A written agreement would need to be negotiated
concerning use, maintenance, and upkeep of the lot. This appears to be a good
project for both parties, as both would gain some of the parking needed while
sharing the initial capital outlay of funds.

Sincerely,

Michael Montplaisir, CPA
County Auditor

SUGGESTED MOTION:

No motion necessary at this time.

Box 2806
211 Ninth Street South
Fargo, North Dakota 58103

Fax 701-241-5728

www. casscountygov, com
