APPENDIX A <br />PAGE 1 OF 2 <br /> <br />AGREEMENT FOR PARTICIPATION <br />IN THE NORTH DAKOTA <br />402 HIGHWAY SAFETY PLAN <br /> <br />PROJECT NO. PHSP4020302 SP 02 Ph 09 <br /> <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />The purpose of this contract is to provide funding to the Cass County Sheriff's Office for the <br />purchase of one SMART Radar board. This unit is to be used to assist the Cass County Sheriff' s <br />Office in monitoring speed limits on county roads and educating the public regarding speed limits. <br />This assistance will allow the Cass County Sheriff's Office to increase patrol in areas identified as <br />having a high crash rate and other problem areas. <br /> <br />A copy of the surveys conducted during the program, as well as the final survey showing the <br />effectiveness of this program, must be submitted to the Drivers License and Traffic Safety Division, <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation, 608 East Boulevard Avenue, Bismarck, ND 58505- <br />0700. <br /> <br />The final report is due by October 30, 2003, and must include speed citations, safety belt citations, <br />and related citations fi.om the first day of the month following the date of this contract, through <br />September 30, 2003. Information and statistics regarding citations must be retained for up to a year <br />after the purchase of the unit for further evaluation. The reimbursement voucher is due no later than <br />60 days after the end of the month in which expenses occurred. If documentation is not submitted <br />to the Drivers License and Traffic Safety Division by November 14, 2003, payment will be denied. <br />Supporting documentation must be retained in accordance with audit guidelines. <br /> <br />The Cass County Sheriff's Office will be responsible for ordering the equipment. Control over and <br />maintenance of equipment purchased with traffic safety funds will be the direct responsibility of the <br />Cass County Sheriff's Office. Any equipment purchases required to be maintained on equipment <br />inventory should be available for inspection. <br /> <br />All persons reimbursed with traffic safety funds are required to wear safety belts and obey all traffic <br />laws while on official business of the project. The Cass County SheriWs Office must have a <br />mandatory safety belt policy and provide a copy prior to any reimbursement. <br /> <br /> <br />
