<br />Dear Ms. Johnson and Member of the Commission:

<br />In review of the bids received on Thursday August 18th for the jai I addition, we have confirmed
<br />that these bids are indeed within our June 20th, estimated cost of construction of ($4,421,251
<br />plus identified other potential cost increases of $265,940). Foss Architecture and Interiors
<br />and our consulting Engineers are familiar with each of the three apparent successful prime
<br />contractors (general, mechanical and electrical) and have confirmed their bids and their desire
<br />to enter into formal agreements with Cass County for construction of the jail project. Whether
<br />fall or spring construction is the choice of Cass County, the successful bidders do not change.
<br />Therefore I include below for your consideration the total cost of each startup time (fall'05,
<br />spring '06) with the project alternates also noted for your additional consideration.
