Our office has discussed <br />this proposal with these schools and they are in support <br />of this grant application. <br /> <br />The grant would provide $25,000 per year for three years <br />for this position. The matching funds would be requested <br />in the 2004 through 2007 budget years. At the end of the <br />grant award, Cass County must agree to keep the position <br />through one more budget cycle. <br /> <br />Our request is for auShorization to apply for the grant <br />funds which does not guarantee that we would receive a <br />grant award. In addition, our office would still need <br />the commission approval of the matching funds during our <br />2004 budget hearings. <br /> <br />Sample Motion: <br /> <br />Move to allow ~he chair to sign the application and <br />supporting documentations for a US Department of <br />Justice Cops in Sshool Gran~_ for the years 2004 <br />through 2007 as requested by the Sheriff's Office. <br /> <br /> Respectfully, <br /> <br /> 2119thS~S.
