<br />Commission Minutes-August 11, 2005 2940 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve the changes on <br />page 44, which includes a new position for the county coordinator and <br />new laptop computers. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Vanyo said there is a decrease in the total on page 48 in the vehicle line item, and Mrs. <br />Johnson said a different pickup was purchased for the maintenance staff this year. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve page 48 for the <br />buildings and grounds budget. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner asked if the rotation schedule for painting and carpet replacement in the <br />courthouse is on track regardless of funds the county mayor may not receive from the State <br />Court Facilities Improvement Grant. Mrs. Johnson said the rotation schedule will continue. <br />She said generally one project is done per year; however, two carpet replacement projects <br />were completed this year with the help of the first round of grant funds. Cass County's <br />second application for court facilities improvement funds was denied this year. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the budget <br />amount of $417,200 on page 49. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the budget <br />amount of $231,754 on page 51. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve the budget <br />amount of $26,449 on page 57 for Risk Management. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The board took a break at 10:05 AM and reconvened at 10:20 with all members present. <br /> <br />5. COUNTY RECORDER <br />County Recorder Deanna Kensrud was present. Increases in her budget are for salaries, <br />travel and association fees. Mr. Montplaisir said the revenue in this budget is $190,000 <br />more than the anticipated expenditures. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the County <br />Recorder's budget request of $481,555. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. COUNTY AUDITOR, CEMETERY MAINTENANCE, ELECTIONS <br />Mr. Montplaisir said increases in his office budget are for salaries. He intends to study the <br />computer tax system and how the county might do a better job of providing information to <br />the citizens. An amount is included in the Information Technology budget for this purpose. <br />
