Examples of the in-kind match are: Office space,
planning meetings attended by employees (public and private) and supplies
purchased. This local match will be met with existing emergency management
budget dollars and the use of Cass County office space.

The projects that will be funded by this grant award will provide for contracted
temporary employees to complete required planning initiatives connected with the
Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan and a new business continuity project.

The business continuity project will address emergency planning needs of our
area businesses. Very limited assistance can presently be provided to the business
community by Cass County Emergency Management. Specifically proposed as
objectives for the business continuity project are:

· the creation of multi-hazard templates based on individual business and
industry sectors and their needs;
· the identification of areas of strength and weakness within individual
business and industry sectors;
· and the development of mutual aid agreements within the business
community

The Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan (MHMP) now requires a significant change to
its current format. This will require one person's dedicated effort in research our
hazards, complete a new vulnerability assessment, and coordinate the required
multi-jurisdictional involvement. This plan will also require new mapping to
coincide with the identified hazards.

The current MHMP is the plan that addresses the 12 hazards that could affect
211 9th St. S. Cass County, the history of these hazards and the mitigation efforts to reduce the
Box 488 effects of these hazards.
Fargo, North Dakota 58107.0488
www. co.cass.nd.us/shefiff
