This letter was received minutes before our last meeting, and I advised <br />the sheriff I would review the materials prior to our next agenda. <br /> <br /> The current location was the site selected by the sheriff and his staff <br />several years ago when the planning process began for a remote jail location. <br />The board was aware the temporary site in the courthouse would be used until <br />the new holding facility was completed in our new addition. <br /> <br /> Sheriff Rudnick is now proposing the temporary holding cells be located in <br />the north basement, however, his correspondence does not provide enough <br />information to allow our board to make an informed decision. <br /> <br /> As chairman, I would like to appoint a committee to further study this <br />request and I would ask the committee to make a recommendation back to this <br />board when they are ready. <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Move to appoint the following members to the public safety/temporary holding <br />committee: Chairman Scott Wagner; Robyn Sorum, Portfolio Commissioner; <br />Don Rudnick, Sheriff; Michael Montplaisir, Auditor; and Bonnie Johnson, <br />Buildings and Grounds.
