FRIEZ Com~ STATE DIRECTOR Dear Your Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) federal fund allocation for fisCal year 2003 (October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003) is $38,259.00.-This'~i:n0~J-n{ w-as~ .......... reached based on the funding formula, available funds and actual expenses in 2002, along with the budget information you provided. The attached page is a breakdown of your allocation. The EMPG funds can only be used to provide direct match funding assistance for the county emergency management Dro~ram and must be matched on a 50-50 basis with non-federal cash resources. At this time, statewide special project funding requests exceed the available dollars. This is requiring us to allocate these funds competitively. Additional information on special project funding criteria and the application procedure will be provided to emergency managers shortly. EMPG personnel funds are being allocated on a quarterly basis. Personnel funds not expended for each quarter will automatically be rolled over for special projects. Therefore it is extremely important all quarterly proRram and financial reports be submitted on time to insure fundinfl availability. If the quarterly financial and work reports are not submitted on time we reserve the right to withdraw funding for that quarter. Office expense and travel funds are budgeted on an annual rather than a quarterly basis. Therefore, if these expenses are less than anticipated it is important the emergency manager communicate this to us so the funds can be allocated to special projects. For counties that have signed up for the Automated Clearing House (ACH), the Division of Emergency Management will process your payments electronically, provide you with a copy of the quarterly repo~t ~edstethe funds were trari~fermd ~o -your account.
