JAIUSHERIFF'S RESIDENCE, Citizen comment <br />Jens Tennefos, Fargo, thanked the board for their action today seeking clarification <br />on the correspondence from the State Historical Society Director and believing the <br />board should make that decision, rather than one person. <br /> <br />13. CULTURAL DIVERSITY AWARD, Committee reports <br />Mr. Bennett reported that the chairman asked him to attend an open house for Cultural <br />Diversity Resources last Wednesday for their 10th anniversary celebration and open house. <br />They have a new office located at 303 Roberts Street in Fargo. <br /> <br />14. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation highway improvement planning for 11 <br />locations in the Fargo District, including four projects in Cass County; <br />notice of application to the State Water Commission by the Fargo Park District for <br />appropriation of water from the Sheyenne River for irrigation use; <br />copy of letter to Attorney Robert Hoy from John Strand, representing the "Save the Jail <br />Citizens' Group," and letter from Jim Lindberg, Assistant Director for the National Trust <br />for Historic Preservation, asking the board not to demolish the former jail and sheriffs <br />residence. <br /> <br />15.
