Buildings are photographed/sketched <br />b. Courthouse (second floor) inmate holding area is <br /> "hardened"; camera is activated; Plexiglas is placed over <br /> windows; divider for gender separation is put in place; officer <br /> work station is set up; inmate chairs are set up, including <br /> being bolted to the floor if necessary <br />c. Sheriff removes all property from old jail and residence that <br /> the department desires to keep and updates all county <br /> inventory records <br />d. Maintenance staff removes any unusable items for <br /> salvage/storage, including shop area <br /> <br />Secondary phase <br />a. Environmental abatement begins <br />b. Electrical contract is signed and work begins <br />c. Mechanical contract is signed and work begins <br /> <br />Demolition contract is executed, per bid specifications (Berndt to be <br />notified about salvage storage at the Highway Department) <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Move to award the Iow bid to Industrial Builders, Inc. of Fargo for the general demolition of the <br />former Cass County jail/sheriff residence; to contract with Bergstrom Electric for electrical <br />demolition and relocation work; Grant's Mechanical for mechanical demolition and relocation; <br />Butler Equipment for generator purchase/lease; HES Environmental Services for <br />asbestos/hazardous material abatement; and T.L. Stroh for construction of temporary shelters <br />for mechanical/electrical/Cass County needs. And further, to proceed with demolition steps as <br />outlined in the memorandum dated February 5, 2003, from Bonnie Johnson, County <br />Coordinator. <br /> <br /> <br />
