<br />Weed Control Progress Report December 3, 2018 <br /> <br />Period from November 13 to December 3, 2018 submitted by Stan Wolf <br /> <br />New Business: <br /> <br />Palmer Amaranth: Palmer amaranth has been identified in Richland County <br />and in four other counties in North Dakota. Palmer amaranth is a vigorous <br />invasive weed that can overtake a field and render it unharvestable. A protocol <br />on how to respond to the infestation needs be developed to assist the landowner <br />in controlling the weed and protecting neighboring lands. A discussion is <br />planned to develop ideas for a response protocol. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Monthly Report <br /> <br />NDWCA Conference Presentation: Worked on presentation on piloting a drone <br />for weed scouting: FAA Part 107 license requirements, drone equipment and <br />flying experiences. <br /> <br />Township Officers Meeting: Attended township officers meeting on November <br />27. Presented info on weed program and asked all to be vigilant in looking for <br />Palmer amaranth. <br /> <br />Northern Ag Expo: Attended seminars at the Northern Ag Expo at the <br />FargoDome regarding crop production and weed control issues. <br /> <br />North Dakota Crop Improvement and Seed Association: Attended the <br />Southeast District Crop Improvement and Seed Association meeting on Dec 3 at <br />Casselton.
