<br />Commission Minutes--January 6, 2003 2540 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JANUARY 6, 2003 <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by last year's Vice Chairman, Scott Wagner, at 3:30 PM <br />with all members present as follows: John Meyer, Robyn Sorum, Darrell Vanyo, Vern <br />Bennett and Scott Wagner. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Commissioner John Meyer led the Pledge of Allegiance at this time. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Meyer seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meetings of November 18, 2002 and December 16, 2002 be <br />approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda with the following additions: 1) purchase order for Vector <br />Control pickup; and 2) hourly contract for legal services relating to <br />demolition of the former jail and sheriff's residence. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. COMMISSION CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR, Elected for 2003 <br />Commissioners discussed the chair and vice chair positions at the planning meeting held on <br />December 16,2002. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to elect Commissioner Scott <br />Wagner as Cass County Commission Chair for 2003 and to elect <br />Commissioner Robyn Sorum as Vice Chair for 2003. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. Mr. Wagner continued conducting the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />6. COMMISSION MEETING DATES/ROTATIONAL MEETINGS/ROBERT'S RULES OF <br />ORDER/DESIGNATE PARLIAMENTARIAN <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to adopt the 2003 Cass <br />County Commission meeting schedule as the first and third Monday of <br />each month (Tuesday if Monday is a holiday) at 3:30 PM, with rotational <br />meetings at 2:00 PM on commission meeting days, and special meetings <br />as called, and to forward a copy of the meeting schedule to the Secretary <br />of State and the County Auditor's Office; to adopt Robert's Rules of Order <br />for conducting meetings; and to appoint Commission Assistant Joyce <br />Schepp as parliamentarian for Cass County Commission proceedings for <br />2003. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />
