SECTION IV - PHASE I Submittal – Preliminary Design <br />FMDAMFDA Phase I funding is intended to provide assistance to complete preliminary design on the proposed <br />impoundment, including geotechnical evaluation. A project concept must already be identified in order to qualify <br />for Phase I FMDAMFDA Funding. Eligible activities and applicant requirements for Phase I FMDAMFDA Funding are <br />summarized below. <br />Eligible Activities <br />• Preliminary Design <br />• Geotechnical Review <br />Applicant Requirements <br />• Meet general criteria requirements in SECTION I of this policy manual. <br />• Project concept identified. <br />• Quarterly reporting on project status. (Attached Form) <br />• Two Three year maximum to apply for Phase II FMDAMFDA Funding. <br />Application Procedure <br />• Complete & Provide FMDAMFDA PHASE I Submittal. <br />• Complete & Provide Phase I Estimated FMDAMFDA Funding Allocation Worksheet based on conceptual <br />assumptions for dam or impoundment operation. <br />Funding Level <br />The amount of FMDAMFDA Funds available for successful Phase I Applicants will be the lesser of: <br />• 5% of total eligible funding, as determined from FMDAMFDA Funding Calculation Spreadsheet. <br />• 50% of the portion of project costs not eligible for Federal or State Cost-Share. <br />FMDAMFDA Phase I Submittals will be reviewed and recommended for FMDAMFDA Funding based on criteria <br />described is SECTION III of this policy manual. <br /> <br /> 7 <br />MFDA_Funding_Policy_Final-R1_2015-1217.docx
