Flood Sales Tax Committee—October 19, 2015 1 <br />FLOOD SALES TAX COMMITTEE <br />OCTOBER 19, 2015—1:30 PM <br /> 1. MEETING TO ORDER Commissioner Ken Pawluk called a meeting of the Flood Sales Tax Committee to <br />order on Monday, October 19, 2015, at 1:30 PM, in the Commission Conference <br />Room, Cass County Courthouse, with the following present: County Administrator <br />Keith Berndt; County Commissioner Ken Pawluk; and County Commissioner Rick Steen. County Auditor Michael Montplaisir and Joint Water Resource District Representative Rodger Olson were absent. <br /> <br />Also present were: County Commissioner Arland Rasmussen; Brandon Oye, <br />Moore Engineering; Public Works Director Kevin Mayer, City of Casselton; City Councilman Mike Eberhardt, City of Casselton; and County Commissioner Mary Scherling. <br /> <br />2. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed Mr. Steen moved and Mr. Berndt seconded to approve the meeting minutes from June 15, 2015, as presented. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />3. REVIEW OF AMENDED CASSELTON INDUSTRIAL PARK FLOOD IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT Mr. Oye provided the background for the amended request. Subsequent to the <br />approval of the original project request in April, a proposal was presented to <br />industrial park property owners. After public meetings, it became clear that <br />property owners did not support the high cost of the project for the proposed <br />benefits. It was decided to revise the scope and cost of the project, to which there has been no further protest from property owners. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Berndt moved and Mr. Steen seconded to approve the <br />amended Casselton Industrial Park Flood Improvements project in the amount of $242,500. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. NEXT MEETING <br />A meeting will be set for a later date. <br /> 5.
