In following thesame procedure aswedid in 2000, it would <br />seem prudent to not hold "regular" Commission meetings in the month of <br />December in order to limit possible future consequences due to the wrong <br />commissioners voting on an issue. State law allows us to conduct business with <br />five commissioners. (See Commission Minutes from November 20, 2000) <br /> <br /> For the first Monday in December, when the new commission terms <br />begin, a District Judge will administer the oath of office at 3:30 PM in the <br />Commission Room. Everyone is welcome to attend and meet the new <br />commissioners, Veto Bennett and Darrell Vanyo. Please note that a Social <br />Service Board meeting is scheduled for 2:30 PM on December 2nd, according to <br />Kathy Hogan. <br /> <br /> For the second meeting in December, commissioners and employees will <br />gather for holiday treats from 1:00 - 3:00 PM in the rotunda area, second floor of <br />the Courthouse on December 16th. An informal planning meeting for the new <br />year is scheduled at 4:00 in the Commission Room for the 2003 board of <br />commissioners to discuss the chair and vice chair positions, portfolio <br />assignments and committee work. <br /> <br />Joyce Schepp <br />Commi~ion Seere~ry <br /> <br />B~2806 <br />2li Ninth Stm~ South <br />Falgo~ North Dalmta 58108 <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Move to adopt an informal meeting schedule for the 1st and 3rd Mondays in <br />December; and authorize Chairman Alon Wieland to review the vouchers and <br />give authority for payment of December bills, and to sign contracts on behalf of <br />the board, which may be forwarded to Cass County during the month of <br />December, subject to state's attorney review and approval. <br /> <br />cc .
