He asked if the township was willing to help fund the cost above this.
Mrs. Schneider supports option #5, to abandon the bridge, close the mad and
use the funds to improve County Road 12, because she feels the money is better
spent. Mr. Berndt feels that with improvements, County Road 12 will be a good
year-round access.

MOTION, passed
Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve option
#5, to abandon the bridge, close the road and use the $60,000
settlement to raise and improve County Road '12. The Commission requested the elevator pay part of the costs for future
paving. Mr. Berndt estimates a cost of $672,000 to asphalt the road or $976,000
to concrete the road. The elevator would be responsible for 20% tocal match, or
approximately $200,000. Representatives from the elevator have not contacted
him as to whether they will be able to fund the local cost of the proposed
surfacing.

STATUS OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
Mr. Berndt updated the committee on construction projects. He said the county
website includes information on ongoing projects and their status.

ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed
On motion by Mr. Wagner, seconded by Mrs. Schneider
and all in favor, the meeting adjourned at 3:05 PM.
