REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />OCTOBER 27, 1987 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with all members <br />present as follows: Jeannette Stanton, Don Eckert, Oscar Sondrall, <br />Ray Larson and Alon Wieland. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as corrected. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Jim Berglie, <br />Director of the Community Survival through County Social Services, <br />be authorized to establish three positions for the Independent <br />Supported Living Arrangement program, but to hire only one person <br />at this time, in Pay Grade 12. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />The Chairman officially introduced Diana Murack, newly appointed <br />Administrative Assistant to the Board of County Commissioners. <br />Upon the request of Mr. Kelly Montgomery, Mrs. Stanton moved <br />and Mr. Sondrall seconded to make a contribution of $200.00 to the <br />Cass County 4 -H Horse Judging team for their trip to the National <br />Horse Judging Contest in Denver, CO, the money to be paid from the <br />Promotional Advertising fund. Mr. Wieland questioned how many other <br />4 -H teams might also ask for a contribution, and other members of <br />the Commission felt that requests such as this would be rare since <br />this is on a national level. At the call for the question and upon <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Upon the request of Attorney Steve Mottinger, Mr. Larson moved <br />and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign <br />an "Assignment of Indigent Defense Contract Proceeds" for Steve <br />Mottinger with the First American Bank of Casselton for the balance <br />of Mr. Mottinger's present Public Defender contract. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Upon the recommendation of Richard Offutt, Mr. Larson moved and <br />Mrs. Stanton seconded to advertise in several newspapers for the sale <br />of the County's NCR 9020 computer equipment, bids to be opened at <br />10:00 AM on November 24, 1987. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to authorize Richard <br />Offutt, Director of Administrative Services, to spend approximately <br />$250.00 for placement of necessary electrical and telephone hook -ups <br />in the Auditor's Office. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />A public hearing was held at 9:30 A.M. on the appraisal of <br />tax forfeited property. There were no objections to the minimum sale <br />price as appraised by the County Board. The sale of tax forfeited <br />property will be held in the County Auditor's Office beginning at <br />10:00 AM on November 17, 1987. <br />
