Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to allow Vernon Quam, <br />Red River Forester, to set up a display in the Courthouse during the <br />month of October to explain their program and activities on Dutch <br />Elm disease control, providing it does not create a traffic problem <br />or fire hazard; and that it be referred to Richard Offutt to make <br />the necessary arrangements. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive and file <br />the Officer's Reports for August, 1987. Motion carried. <br />Clerk of Court 6,089.24 <br />County Court $30,075.85 <br />Register of Deeds $16,033.90 <br />Sheriff 7,110.39 <br />Veterans Service Officer <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to order two North <br />Dakota Bi- Centennial flags, at a cost of $30.00 each, to be flown <br />over the Courthouse in the year 1989. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman <br />be authorized to sign the petition for vacating the alleys adjacent <br />to County Shop property located on Lots 16 -18, Block 9, Ellsbury's <br />1st Addition, City of Tower City. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the County pay <br />their share of additional architectural services on the proposed <br />City /County Law Enforcement Center to Polson Architects of Kansas <br />City, Missouri, in the amount of $5,140.20. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to approve payment <br />of a bill to the Metropolitan Council of Governments in the amount <br />of $217.20 as reimbursement for the County Planner's use of copying <br />machine, supplies and telephone for the period of July, 1986 to April, <br />1987. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />An item in the Suggestion Box requested a used 13" black and <br />white for the employee lounge, and the Commissioners stated that they <br />would have no objection to this. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to receive and file <br />a "Sewage Treatment Resolution" from the Stanley Township Board of <br />Supervisors expressing support of the County's efforts to investigate <br />the feasibility of extending the City of Fargo's sewer services and <br />the availability of grant funds; a copy to be referred to County Planner <br />Jerry McCullough. Motion carried. <br />Correspondence was received from States Attorney Robert Hoy <br />regarding Majerus vs. Cass County Commission. Faye Majerus and <br />Attorney E. Thomas Conmy, III, have accepted a proposal of $3,800.00 <br />for resolution of a pending claim. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />seconded to approve payment in the amount of $3,800.00. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />
