Services Bd. <br />Vector Control Dist. <br />public hearing to <br />be held <br />NCR computer <br />equip. to be adv. <br />for sale <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JULY 21, 1987 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with all members present as follows: Jeannette <br />Stanton, Don Eckert, Oscar Sondrall, Ray Larson and Alon Wieland. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as <br />written. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to authorize a change of date for out of state travel <br />for Joyce Temanson, Social Services employee, to St. Cloud, MN. Motion carried. <br />Correspondence was reC "eived from the State Division of Emergency Management designating Cass County <br />as a local planning district, and requesting the appointment of a local planning committee. Appointments <br />will be made at the next meeting. <br />Correspondence from the Maple River Water Resource District, dated July 20, 1987, was referred to <br />Commissioner Don Eckert. He stated that the letter refers to a location near the Dalrymple farm in <br />Everest Township, and it is a bridge crossing rather than a Texas crossing. The work will be completed <br />today. <br />Committee reports were given. <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the meeting was adjourned. <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JULY 28, 1987 <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order with all members present as follows: Jeannette <br />Stanton, Don Eckert, Oscar Sondrall, Ray Larson and Alon Wieland. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as <br />written. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to grant approval of a utility permit for the <br />Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for a service line to a residence at the corner of County Roads 17 <br />and 20. Motion carried. <br />Correspondence from the State Highway Department regarding 1988 projects for the Federal Aid <br />Secondary Program was referred to County Engineer Don Richards. <br />The Chairman referred a letter to the County Engineer regarding a drainage problem along County <br />Road 11 in the Mapleton city limits. <br />Chairman Wieland questioned the County's policy on controlling the number of accesses to County <br />roads, and the matter will be referred to the County Planning Commission. <br />Architect Richard Moorhead presented sketches for a proposed entry courtyard plaza on the east side <br />of the Courthouse between the front steps and 9th Street at an estimated cost of $36,000.00. <br />Chairman Wieland requested Architect Moorhead to proceed with the design and call for bids for <br />completion of remodeling the employee brown bag area in the basement of the Courthouse North Wing. <br />The Commission discussed water damage in Courthouse offices on the west side of the North Wing after <br />recent wind and heavy rain. Architect Richard Moorhead reported that two people from his firm inspected <br />the situation, and they have some suggestions and recommendations in terms of building maintenance. He <br />stated that there is still some question as to the completeness of what the problem indicates. <br />Mr. Wieland suggested having the water stains removed from carpeted areas, and he requested that <br />Commissioner Sondrall work with the Architect to make necessary repairs to insure that this does not <br />happen again. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to reappoint Commissioners Jeannette Stanton and Ray <br />Larson and to reappoint Mrs. Florenz Bjornson to the Cass County Social Services Board for three -year <br />terms to expire July 31, 1990. Motion carried. The term of Mr. Bernard Holes of Hunter expires July 31, <br />1987, and Mr. Holes does not wish to be reappointed. The Commission will consider a replacement for <br />Mr. Holes at the next meeting. <br />A public hearing on establishing a Cass County Vector Control District will be held /at 10:00 A.M. in <br />the Commission Room at the Cass County Courthouse. Representatives of the North Dakota State Health <br />Department will be present. <br />Administrative Assistant Scott Krueger reported that the County's NCR computer equipment is <br />scheduled to be converted to IBM computers in the next few months, and he is aware of three parties who <br />may be interested in purchasing the NCR equipment. Mrs. Stanton suggested advertising the equipment for <br />sale. <br />
