Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman be <br />authorized to sign a resolution proclaiming the week of May 10 -16, <br />1987, as Police Week and the day of May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial <br />Day. Motion carried. <br />Upon the recommendation of County Engineer Don Richards, Mr. <br />Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be authorized <br />to sign the resolution requesting the State Highway Department to <br />accept the low bid of Swingen Construction Company of Grand Forks <br />in the amount of $485,728.90 for the bridge replacement on the Sheyenne <br />River south of Harwood, the Federal Government paying 80% of the cost. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman <br />be authorized to sign the Project Agreement and the Operation and <br />Maintenance Agreement with the Soil Conservation Service for the RC &D <br />Project along County Roads 31 and 4. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Engineer and in conjunction <br />with Clay County, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to <br />award the bid for a truck mounted striping machine to General Equipment <br />of Fargo in the amount of $69,659.29 on Alternate #2, and to award <br />the bid for a self propelled chip spreader to Sweeney Brothers in <br />the amount of $59,400.00 on Alternate #2. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Duane Boehning from Ulteig Engineers presented a Plat of <br />Adam' s 3rd Subdivision, which was approved by the Cass County Planning <br />Commission on May 7, 1987. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded <br />that the Chairman be authorized to sign the Plat of Adam's 3rd <br />Subdivision located in Barnes Township. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chairman <br />be authorized to sign the Plat of Cameron Sondreal Subdivision, <br />located in Reed Township, which was also approved by the County <br />Planning Commission on May 7, 1987. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Sheriff's <br />Deputy Bud Warren be granted permission for out of state travel on <br />the date of May 12-14, 1987, to attend a Crime Conference in Aberdeen, <br />South Dakota. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Bonnie Johnson, <br />Regional Child Support Enforcement Director, be authorized to hire <br />a Secretary II in Pay Grade 5 at a salary of $1, 000 per month to replace <br />Deb Fernandez, who resigned. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Administrative <br />Assistant Scott Krueger be authorized to obtain informal bids for <br />the three phases of the exterior landscaping project on the Courthouse <br />
